Lungu congratulates Magufuli

THE re-election of John Magufuli as President of Tanzania will allow for the continuation of trade between the two neighboring countries in the region, President Edgar Lungu has said.
And President Lungu has congratulated the people of Tanzania for holding a peaceful election which saw the incumbent Magufuli retaining power.
President Magufuli was re-elected as Tanzanian President on October 30, 2020, after beating opposition Chadema party leader Tundu Lisu.
In his congratulatory message through Foreign Affairs Minister Joseph Malanji who attended President Magufuli’s inauguration ceremony on Thursday, President Lungu said the re-election of Magufuli showed the satisfaction and confidence Tanzanians had derived from the service delivery that he had rendered as President of Tanzania.
“We congratulate President Magufuli and his entire Members of Parliament for the victory as it shows the wisdom the people of Tanzania have seen in the Chama Cha Mapinduzi party,” said President Lungu. President Lungu stated that the volume of trade between Zambia and Tanzania was high compared to others owing to the long relationship the two countries have enjoyed. – SMARTEAGLES.
He added that Tanzania and Zambia had a long history dating back to the days of liberation between President Julius Nyirere and President Kenneth David Kaunda, and further stated that the two leaders took up the mantle of bringing Independence in most African states surrounding the two countries.
And in his inauguration speech, President Magufuli pledged to continue all developmental projects in a bid to stabilize his country’s economy.
President Magufuli also said that his re-election was a sign that Tanzanians had trust in his leadership as well as his party.
He appealed to the citizens to put the elections behind and focus on working hard to better the nation.
“Irrespective of your political inclination or conviction, I ask that we work together and everyone should work towards the betterment of Tanzania with love and unity of purpose.
“We will stamp out corruption and create employment for the youth, women and the differently-abled persons,” said President Magufuli.
He also saluted the media for being objective and ethical during campaigns. (SMART EAGLES)
