FUMBA Chama popularly known as Pilato should not allow himself to be used by politicians to dent the image of the country, says Brian Bwembya.

Mr Bwembya popularly known as B-Flow said that he was surprised to hear that a Zambian artist was seeking refuge in a foreign country because the Patriotic Front (PF) was a very tolerant government.

“I am quite surprised to learn that Pilato has gone into exile. I have never imagined a Zambian artist seeking refuge in a foreign country. Pilato is just being used by some opposition political parties to spoil the image of Zambia to the international community,” he said.

He also said that he was surprised and even more suspicious, as to where Pilato got the money he is using to lodge in foreign countries.

“How possible is it that Pilato can afford to lodge or rent an expensive apartment in a foreign land, when he cannot even afford two meals a day. This raises a lot of dust,” he said.

He said that Pilato must grow up and come back to Zambia instead of painting the country black, to the international community. He should realise that his conduct can jeopardise the investment prospects of the country.

Meanwhile, PF media director, Sunday Chanda, accused the UPND of having sponsored Pilato’s self-exile for cheap political mileage, saying the ruling party had no intention of harming the satirical singer.

Mr Chanda told journalists in Lusaka on Sunday that the UPND wants to use Pilato’s experience to purport that there was a breakdown of law in Zambia coupled with inherent politics of violence which has been tolerated and embraced by the PF when it was not true.
