HIGH Court Judge Bubile Lungu has recused herself in a matter in which a Lusaka woman, Jaqueline Mwindwa is charged with murder.
When the matter came up for mention in the Lusaka High Court, Lady Justice Lungu said she could not go ahead with the matter because she shared a relationship with Shamwana and Company, a firm that represented the accused.
“I recuse myself in this matter, as I share a relationship with Shamwana and Company, a firm that is standing for the accused. I will therefore relocate this case to another Judge and date for commencement of trial,” she said.
This is in a case in which Mwindwa 36 of Lusaka’s Makeni was last year, detained and charged with murder of her husband Kosi Milumbe 38, also of Makeni, after a marital dispute.
Particulars of the offence where that the accused person, went to the house of her husband to pick up their three children and a disagreement ensued.
After the accused picked up their children, the husband, who is the victim attempted to stop the wife from driving off with the children, pushed his head through the window with his body half way inside the vehicle but the wife sped off dragging him and that is how the victim fell.
After turning the motor vehicle, the accused person hit the victim with the motor vehicle and left him lying on the ground with injuries
