THE Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) is a toothless “bull dog” that has no capacity to play an intermediary role among political players in the country, Rainbow Party secretary general Wynter Kabimba has charged.
Reacting to ZCID’s announcement that it would soon facilitate interparty dialogue among political parties in the country, Mr Kabimba said the development was not exciting as ZCID did not command respect among the political parties and the announcement would not change anything on the political scene.
He charged that the ZCID was a foreign sponsored organisation that made pronouncements just to move donors.
He told the Daily Nation in an interview that the issue of inter party dialogue had been deliberated all through 2017 and nothing had come into fruition therefore the recent announcement was nothing new.
“You know this organisation just has to say something to remain relevant and to receive a bit of money from the donors otherwise do not get excited its nothing serious, “he said.
Mr Kabimba said his party had not received any communication from the organisation and wondered how genuine the dialogue was as political parties needed time to prepare.
“We do not know the agenda of the meeting, we do not know who the participants are and we do not know whether there are any expected resolutions, “he said.
Mr Kabimba said he had participated in ZCID initiatives when he was in the Patriotic Front and all deliberations had come to nothing and were only a waste of time.
