CITY0f Lusaka yesterday left Nkoloma Stadium with their tails firmly tucked between their legs as their chances of remaining in the FAZ/MTN premier league drifted further after wobbling to a 3-0 bashing by Napsa Stars in a week 28 fixture.

The self-proclaimed City “Ya Moto” failed to ignite any flame as they recorded their 19th loss of the season.

Napsa commanded play from the first whistle and took the lead in the 28th minute through Chitoshi Mukuma’s back heel dummy at the near post.

Alex Mwamba doubled the lead for the pensioners with a well taken penalty in the 38th minute. Napsa marksman Chitiya Mususu sealed victory in the dying minutes of the match with a sublime header from an Austin Banda cross, sending the ball into the corner of the net.

The victory revived Napsa’s aim to finish the 2017 season in the top four, after a string of losses that compelled the club’s management to send head coach Tenant Chilumba on forced leave.

City remain rooted at the bottom of the log with a meagre 15 points, having won a paltry three matches, drawn six, conceded 46 goals; and scored only 22.

In Chingola, visiting Kabwe Warriors put some smiles on their fans’ faces after their top man Bibo Bindu scored a brace in a 2-1 victory over hosts Nchanga Rangers. A Jimmy Nakena consolation goal was not enough for the home side to salvage a point.

At Nkana Stadium in Kitwe, Nkana clamped Real Nakonde’s hopes of escaping relegation with a 4-0 win over the Muchinga province outfit.

A hatrick from Shadreck Musonda and an own goal by Shoun Odour was all Nkana needed to collect the maximum points.

The Kalampa boys were in their own class as they dominated possession throughout the match and gave their fans, who packed the rowdy stadium, what they yearned for.

Nkana are now third on the log with 48 points, two points behind leaders Zanaco and second placed Green Buffaloes, who face off today in the first of a double header slated for Nkoloma stadium.

In Mufulira, Wanderers humbled visitors Nkwazi 3-1 in a match played at Shinde Stadium. Mathews Macha put Mighty in the lead on 15 minutes but two minutes later, Davy Kalandanya restored parity for the police outfit.

After the break, the legendary cup fighters returned rejuvenated and eight minutes later Chrispin Sakulanda restored the lead for the home side before Macha completed his brace in the 75th minute.

In Choma, league debutants Buildcon beat hosts Green Eagles 2-0, thanks to goals from Akakulubelwa Mwachiaba and Geoffrey Sserunkuma.

In the neighbouring town of Chililabombwe, Konkola Blades edged visiting Power Dynamos 1-0 to inflict more frustration on the Kitwe giants whose recent form has not impressed their fans while big spenders Lusaka Dynamos played to a barren draw against Nakambala Leopards in Mazabuka.
