SOME miners and ex-miners in Mufulira have urged President Edgar Lungu to remain firm, focused and seek God’s guidance in the midst of provocative language from disgruntled politicians who want to incite Zambians against his government.

Chairperson of the Miners for Edgar Lungu Ben Sakisha said the President should remain focused and seek God’s guidance in the midst of provocative language because those provoking him wanted to distract him from focusing on fulfilling his campaign promises.
Mr Sakisha said in a statement to the Daily Nation that it was disappointing that some disgruntled politicians had ganged up against President Lungu because of their insatiable appetite for power.
“Because of their insatiable appetite for power, some disgruntled politicians have ganged up against President Lungu to fight him through being malicious by calling him all sorts of names and accusing him of being corrupt. The whole thing is aimed inciting people to rise against him.
“We are urging him to remain firm, focused and seek God’s guidance. We are happy that he has continued to ignore provocative statements. With his behaviour, God will fight for him,” Mr Sakisha said.
Mr Sakisha said President Lungu was a devoted family man, stickler for high professional standards with heart to develop the welfare of the citizenry despite their political affiliations.
“It is always been said, one man’s life is a fantasy land. It is for this reason that Miners for Edgar Lungu distances themselves from pseudo assertion and dilemma by known entities and individuals that they can offer solutions to miners singlehandedly forgetting what their passion was when they served in government.
“The problems faced by miners can only be solved by President Lungu and his government and not these others claiming to have a solution to the problems miners were facing,” he said.
And Mr Mushinge has said it is an insult to the Bembas for any politician to misinterpret the Bemba idiom of ‘Ubomba Mwibala alya mwibala’ to be a way of encouraging people to steal.
Mr Mushinge, who is Mufulira Mayor, said no responsible tribe or language can come up with an idiom that would encourage stealing of public resources.
He said politicians who were misinterpreting the Bemba idiom of ‘’Uubomba Mwibala alya mwibala’ were people with corrupt minds who wanted to mislead others to suit their political interests. “I feel it is an insult to the Bembas for any politician to misinterpret the Bemba idiom of ‘Ubomba Mwibala alya mwibala’ to be a way of encouraging people to steal,” He said.
“Uubomba mwibala’’ Bemba idiom does not encourage stealing. It actually tells you that you can only benefit where you work. If I have a farm, I should benefit from my farm and not somewhere else, but it is sad that, as a country, we have decided to become so petty to gain political mileage
And President of Ex-Miners Steve Mulenga said the ex-miners would like to appeal to the Ministry of Lands to expedite the demarcation process of the gazetted farm for ex-miners.
Mr Mulenga also said the ex-miners greatly appreciated the help of former Copperbelt Minister Bowman Lusambo for the commitment and concern shown for the welfare of the ex-miners on the Copperbelt.
