DON’T UNDERRATE PF, IT CAN BOUNCE BACK TO POWER – NG’OMA

By VITUMBIKO NYIMBIRI

POLITICAL Scientist Alex Ng’oma says it is possible for the Patriotic Front to bounce back into power depending on what they can do. Dr Ng’oma said in an interview yesterday that anyone underrating the opposition party is doing it at their own peril. He however mentioned that if the party fails to do certain things, it stands no chance of bouncing back. “Anyone underrating a party that was in government before, is doing that at his or her own peril.

Anything is possible in politics just like anything is possible in soccer. “So it is possible that the PF can actually bounce back to power depending on what they do. “But they can also fail to bounce back to power depending on what they fail to do. That is how they should put it,” Dr Ng’oma said. Following the August 12 election loss, some stakeholders have ridiculed the PF saying it was gone for good. But the party has been regrouping and doing an introspection following the loss in readiness for the 2026 general election.

The party which yesterday indefinitely suspended the presidential campaigns of its aspirants is expected to hold a general conference next June. And PF member of the central committee in charge of Information and Publicity Raphael Nakacinda was yesterday optimistic that PF will make history by being the first party to lose and bounce back to power.

Mr Nakacinda said Zambians will give the party support again as soon as they heal from the wounds because they are forgiving people.
