[dropcap]T[/dropcap] ALENTEDLusaka based and newly-signed rapper-songwriter at Kalandanya Music Promotions, Jay Kelly, has told the Daily Nation Lifestyle that all is set for the release of his most anticipated single and video tagged “Pamunyoko” a Tonga term to mean give your friend/brother or a relation, (figuratively).

The single which is both in audio and video format, features two of  Zambia’s prolific renowned artistes, Vinchenzo of the ‘Ma Reason’ hit and ‘Satana Azakadabwa’ hit maker, Dizmo. The new release was produced by the talented Skiller Skipper, who made sure that the song becomes a sensational success that is worthy to be on people’s playlist.

Born Jonathan Kelly Kayombo, on August 11, Jay Kelly who having gained recognition in the musical industry with his three hit singles tagged “2things involved”, “Zambia-Malawi” and “Ameno Ayo”, said the single is an introduction of the more projects he has lined up for the year 2023.

The energetic rapper who is known for his fluent and impeccable delivery of verses said he was looking forward to working with more big artistes in the game, and that people should look out for more hit songs from him.

“Pa Munyoko, is a Tonga term to mean give (pa) your friend/brother or a relation (munyoko) and figuratively. At times it is said Kopa Munyoko or Pa Mweenzi nyoko. So the song basically is encouraging people not to be selfish or greedy, but learn, and understand the importance of sharing in life. This is my first offering of the year 2023, and I will be dropping both the audio and visuals for ‘Pamunyoko’ which was produced by my good friend, Skiller Skipper, and it features my other two friends, Dizmo and Vinchenzo. The video was shoot by Lanzee Cooper,” he said

Asked which artistes he had in mind which he could work with, and when the visuals will be out for the song, Jay Kelly aka MwanaWaKayombo responded, “I’m up and ready to work with any available big artiste out there. Like I said, ‘Pamonyoko’ is my announcement of the many projects I have lined up for this year. So, I am game to work with anyone. And on the video, I will be dropping it soon. Date to be announced.

“Big thanks goes to Kalandanya Music Promotions management for the support and advise being given to me as I continue to cement my name and music career in the music industry. Thanks to my family and friends. Thanks to Dizmo, Vinchenzo, Skiller Skipper and Lanzee Cooper. Much appreciated,” he added.

With catchy verses in this new release, it’s clear that the Jay Kelly aspires to be a force in the music industry with his versatile and boundary pushing mentality as he continues to offload some of Zambia’s most sought-after songs thanks to his multi-layered lyrics and the storytelling ability in his music.
