By MILLENNIUM REPORTER

KAMWALA Ward 5 Councillor Mainda Simataa has kick-started the emergency rehabilitation of pothole-ridden roads in Kamwala Ward, starting with the worst affected – Chongwe Road in Kamwala trading area.

Mr Simataa, who was on site to flag off works says the rehabilitation is sponsored by Gousia Islamic Trust of Kamwala who’ve engaged SAAD Contractors to clean and seal all potholes from Kamwala Prison to Shoprite Mega Store on Kafue Road.

The rehabilitation is estimated to cost over K200, 000 and is split in two phases which divides the 300meter stretch into two 150-meter parts.

Lusaka City Council has since issued a public road closure notice advising road users to use alternative routes.
