Dry spells may cause food crisis – Citizens First

THE Citizen First has expressed disappointment that the government has not taken this year’s anticipated food security crisis seriously despite early signs caused by the long dry spells Zambia is facing.

Party Spokesperson Frank Sichone said it is disappointing to see the government not taking precautions to secure food stocks in the nation as they have continued to export maize to neighboring countries like Congo amidst looming Drought.

Mr Sichone said a reasonable government should have put a stop to exporting maize and start securing food due to poor rainfall patterns being experienced this year which has threatened food security. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE
