THE International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank should stop propagating their colonial domination especially on African and poor countries and instead cancel their debts, ActionAid has stated.
The ActionAid said for the 80 years, the IMF and World Bank had been in existence, not much had changed but instead, global South countries had been pushed further into debt and reeled from the impacts of IMF-imposed austerity measures.
This was contained in a collective political statement yesterday by the ActionAid as IMF and World Bank, the powerful institutions ended their Spring meetings in Washington DC.
