Farmers being blackmailed


REUBEN Mtolo Phiri should not threaten or blackmail farmers who have the option to sell their maize to private or even commercial grain dealers because his government cannot determine how and to whom they should sell their grain at a profit they desire, Namakau Siyanga has said.

Ms Siyanga says instead of threatening and blackmailing farmers that they risk being removed from the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) if they decided to sell their maize to private grain dealers, Mr Phiri, the Agriculture Minister should begin to work to clear the mess he has created in the agriculture sector.
