GOVERNMENT is elated by the introduction of the fall armyworm resistant maize variety seed by the Zambia Seed Company Limited (Zamseed) as it will save government from the burden of spending huge sums of money towards procuring of chemicals for the small-scale farmers to fight the outbreak.
Minister of Agriculture, Mtolo Phiri in a speech read by Permanent Secretary John Mulongoti said, armyworm resistant seed would not only save money but would also be beneficial to the crops that are badly affected by the chemicals used to get rid of the worms. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE
