THE United Liberal Party has called for the resignation of Energy Minister, Peter Kapala, for incompetence as Government claims that it was not consulted by the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) to increase electricity tariffs.
ULP president Sakwiba Sikota wondered how Government could make that claim when both the ERB and Zesco boards regularly reported to Mr Kapala.
Last month, ERB approved Zesco’s request to increase electricity tariffs by 10 percent effective May 1, 2024.
