WYNTER Kabimba should be in competition with the UPND not PF because that is the ruling party, PF presidential hopeful, Chishimba Kambwiil has said.

Mr Kambwili has also described as shallow thinking Mr Kabimba’s decision to change the name of his political party, “You don’t rebrand by changing your name, that is shallow thinking.”
Mr. Kambwili said Mr. Kabimba should have changed its manifesto if his focus was economic development instead of changing the name.

Reacting to Mr. Kabimba’s remarks that his Economic Front Party would overshadow PF, Mr. Kambwili said those are tricks aimed at hoodwinking members of PF that even a two-year-old child could see.

Mr. Kambwili said in an interview the former PF general secretary was wasting time if he thinks that he could take advantage of the PF losing the August 12 elections to hoodwink and mislead its members to join his party.

“He thinks by putting the name economy in the name of the party the people would be attracted to it, it doesn’t work that way, I feel sorry for him, extremely sorry,” Mr Kambwili said.

“Mr. Wynter Kabimba is not going to attract PF members to overshadow PF by changing a name from Wynter Kabimba to Wynter Mulenga, he will still remain the same Wynter Kabimba, the party will still remain the same Rainbow Party,” he said.

He described as a mistake Mr. Kabimba’s remarks that he would overshadow the PF in rebranding his party because competing with the PF instead of the UPND which is in leadership is a waste of time.

Mr. Kambwili alleged that Mr. Kabimba miscalculated his moves when he left PF to form the Rainbow Party because he thought some PF members were going to defect and join his party but to the contrary, no one went with him.

“In rebranding his party, let him not say that we shall overshadow PF, he has a right to rebrand his party but to say that we shall overshadow PF, that is a mistake, he is supposed to be in competition with UPND as the ruling party and over shadow UPND,” he said.
