I WILL use my influence to ensure the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) loses Matero Constituency to the opposition in the 2021 general elections, Matero PF Member of Parliament Lloyd Kaziya has declared.

“They are saying I will noting I am going to stand on another party’s ticket. Of course I will be standing in the 2021 general elections and I will make sure PF does not carry the day in Matero,” Mr Kaziya said.

In an interview with the Daily Nation yesterday, Mr Kaziya said come what may, he would be on the ballot paper to defend his parliamentary seat on a different party.

He said it was a sheer waste of time for PF members to warn him that he would not be adopted for having failed to perform as he will be on the ballot paper to teach the ruling party a lesson.

However,     Lusaka Province PF secretary Kennedy Kamba has described Mr Kaziya as the party’s single most failed project and said the Matero lawmaker should stop dreaming because the ruling party will win  the seat without him.

Mr Kaziya who singled out Mr Kamba as one of the people against his adoption in PF said it was not true that he has failed to deliver.

He, however, claimed that Matero constituency had been neglected because he was not receiving support from the ruling party.

“Kennedy Kamba is not a factor in PF, he is just a provincial secretary. Kamba is not a spokesperson for PF, where does he draw the courage to fight an MP?

“Matero has been neglected because I don’t receive support from PF. Why should I be punished like this? What did I do?,” he asked.

But Mr Kamba said Mr Kaziya was frustrated after realizing that he would not be adopted to stand on the ruling party ticket this year because he has failed to perform in the constituency.

Mr Kamba said Matero Constituency had deteriorated since Mr Kaziya took over as  MP because he was a lazy person.

He said it did not make sense for Mr Kaziya to claim that he was not assisted by the ruling party to develop Matero Constituency when he even failed to perform as  Cabinet minister.

“He is just the most lazy MP we have had in the party. He is a total failure,” he said.
