I WILL FINISH HH – GBM

I WILL dismantle the UPND across the country and help President Edgar Lungu win the 2021 general elections, the opposition party’s former vice president Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) has said.

Mr Mwamba who was speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday, said he would ensure that the UPND was unpopular across the country.

He said that, “I will not be kind to Hichilema as he was not kind to me.”

Mr Mwamba said he would ensure that the PF becomes strong across the country. He noted that he would start dismantling the UPND structures in Lusaka and later go flat out to all parts of the country.

“Hichilema my friend you haven’t been kind to me, you have treated me badly, and even me I will not be kind to you. I will ensure that all structures are dismantled, I will embark on a countrywide tour to dismantle the UPND,” Mr Mwamba stated.

Mr Mwamba said he would ensure Mr Hichilema did not go State House in 2021. He said the opposition leader was power hungry but he would never step to State House.

“I will not take it easy for the UPND and Hichilema. The UPND will not form government by 2021 and I am assuring you Zambians,” Mr Mwamba said.

“If Hichilema thought I am irrelevant in the UPND I will show him now,” he warned. Mr Mwamba said if Mr Hichilema underrated him politically this would be the end of UPND now.

He said time had come for Mr Hichilema to be his political enemy. He said he would not continue working with arrogant individuals such as Mr Hichilema.

Mr Mwamba said the chiefs and Members of Parliament had tried reconcile the two opposition leaders but Mr Hakainde was too arrogant to heed advice.

Mr Mwamba who pledged to mobilize PF countrywide has asked the party leadership to give him a programme to help mobilize the ruling party.

Mr Mwamba flanked by former UPND presidential advisors Richard Kachingwe and Edward Mumbi, his family members as well as hundreds of his supporters said this when he paid a courtesy call on the PF leadership at the secretariat in Lusaka yesterday.

He was received by PF provincial chairman Paul Moonga and Provincial secretary Kennedy Kamba among others. He said he did not have any qualms re-joining the party as an ordinary member because all he wanted was to help President Lungu solidify PF.

“I am here not for positions, I have come here as an ordinary member of PF. I don’t want any position. But you can utilize me. Make a programme where you want me to go, I will be at your disposal. I am a very active mobiliser.

Mr Mwamba who vowed to embark on a country-wide tour to persuade more UPND members to rejoin the ruling party appealed to PF officials to embrace and utilize his supporters (youths).

He announced that he will be visiting Kasama, Mpulungu, Mporokoso and the entire Northern Province this coming weekend to mobilise the ruling party.

Mr Mwamba said before making a decision, he consulted widely in all the provinces including Southern Province and his supporters had anonymously supported him.

“Fellow members of PF, I have come back not that I wanted to but I have been forced by my supporters. I have come here back wholeheartedly as you can see my wife and children are here, “ he said.

Earlier yesterday, Mr Mwamba announced his decision to rejoin PF reiterating that he will work with President Lungu to ensure that UPND president Hakainde Hichilema does not become republican president within the next 40 years.

He also apologized to President Lungu for the insults he showered on him when he was in UPND saying he did that out of frustrations.

And welcoming him, Mr Moonga who is PF member of the central Committee (MCC) said Mr Mwamba was welcome and free to participate in all party activities.
