Kalulushi youths empowered

KALULUSHI Member of Parliament Kampamba Chewe has handed over four block-making machines to four youth coopera-tives in the district.
The machines were purchased using Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Ms Chewe, who is Community Development and Social Welfare Minister, said that her office saw it fit to empower youth cooperatives in the area which were faced with many challenges.
“I am however impressed with the commitment of people towards the empowerment programmes in the area despite having limited re-sources,” she said.
And youth beneficiaries have thanked Government for the gesture they described as a journey of thousand miles.
“As the youths in Kalulushi, we wish to thank Government through the minister’s office for empowering some us,” a representative said.
The youths said that the move should be commended by all well-meaning citizens as Government was fighting unemployment in the coun-try.
They said that a better foundation for youths was guaranteed thereby creating a better future for industrious men and women.
The youths further called on cooperating partners to assist other cooperatives in other districts with such programs.
