COZMO Insists on State of Emergency

I insist that President Edgar Lungu declares a state of emergency as a way of bringing escalating levels of lawlessness in the country to an end, says Cozmo Mumba.

Dr. Mumba who is National Revolution Party (NRP) President told Daily Nation in an interview yesterday that the only answer to escalating levels of lawlessness was a state of emergency.

“Like I said last time, the only way to quickly bring to an end these high levels of lawlessness such as that of the arsonists who are burning down public places in the country is by declaring a state of emergency”, he said.

He added, “I insist that President Edgar Lungu declares a state of emergency”.

The NRP leader noted that President Lungu had been so patience with the perpetrators of all sorts of crimes adding that it was time for wrong doers to pay the price.

He charged that the burning down of public places was politically motivated.

“I can assure you, these public places are being set on fire by opposition political cadres and when state of emergency is declared they will stop”, Dr. Mumba said.

Dr. Mumba has further warned those that are involved in the act of torching public places to stop saying when they were caught, they would rot in jail.

“I would like to warn those involved to stop because when they are caught they will rot in jail leaving their relatives suffering”, he warned
