Junior golfers ready for All-Africa Challenge

THE two junior teams representing Zambia at the All-Africa Junior Golf Challenge are ready and aiming to win the title, says delegation leader Richard Phiri.
Speaking in an interview yesterday, Phiri said the teams are scheduled to leave for Harare this Saturday ahead of the tournament which will run from March 26 to 31.
“I can confidently declare the teams ready for the tournament. We started preparing in January and now they are just polishing up. Our target is to win the tournament and qualify for the World Cup set for Japan in June,” he said. He said South Africa was a threat but Zambia was ready to take them on this time around
He thanked KPMG and the Zambia Golf Union (ZCU) for supporting the teams.
“I advise the players to be disciplined and continue working hard. It will not be an easy task, but it is time Zambia scoops the title,” he said.
The boys’ team has Patrick Mwendapole Jn. (Lusaka), Stalian Daka (Nkana), Humphrey Chisanga (Nkana), Musonda Kapoma (Lusaka) while the girls’ squad has Martha Matyola (Chainama), Miness Siame (Mufulira) and Rachael Namusiya (Chilanga).
