Kitwe DC mourns Mkhondo Lungu

Kitwe district commissioner Chanda Kabwe has described the death of the former Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Mkhondo Lungu as a blow to the nation.

Mr Kabwe said the former deputy Speaker was a national hero especially to the young leaders in Zambia.

He said the death of Mr Lungu has robbed the nation of a  leader who was determined to contribute positively to the growth of the nation in  terms  of democracy and good governance.

He said Mr Lungu, who has been honoured by President Edgar Lungu with a day of national mourning, was a dedicated leader who was interested in serving Zambians irrespective of their political affiliation.

He said the nation would miss the late deputy speaker of Assembly because he was a selfless leader.

Mr Chanda said the death of Mr Lungu came as a shock to the nation because the country needed him most to provide leadership to the young leaders in Zambia.

He said Zambia has yet again lost a gallant leader who was providing knowledge to the nation in the National Assembly.

Mr Chanda said young people should emulate the good leadership skills the deceased had for development to foster in the nation.

He urged the family members of the Mr Lungu to look up to God for wisdom and guidance in their trying moment.

Mr Kabwe said during the tenure of office of Mr Lungu in office he worked deligently to serve Zambia without fear or favour. Mr Lungu will be buried today.
