PATRIOTIC Front (PF) youths have welcomed President Edgar Lungu’s decision to re-align the Civil Service because it is necessary to make it deliver services effectively.

PF Youth chairperson Kennedy Kamba said that transfers, retirements and reshuffles in the Civil Service would enhance the service delivery to the Zambian people.

Mr Kamba told Sunday Nation that the reshuffles and realignments of the Civil Service clearly indicated that the President wanted to deliver development to the Zambian people.

“We are aware that in the Civil Service most of them never voted for the President and when it comes to service delivery, they have continued to fight the PF government through underperforming,” Mr Kamba said.

He said the youths in the party had been complaining that there was bad attitude towards work in the Civil Service whereby some civil servants wanted to derail service delivery by the government.

“As youths, we are happy especially that the President has continued putting quality in the leadership of the youths looking at the way he has appointed most of the youths in the decision making position such as Chanda Kabwe, Binwell Mpundu, Makebi Zulu and Japhen Mwakalombe.

“As youths we are very much encouraged because the President has continued to appoint our fellow youths. Now the onus is up to the youths to perform, so they do not disappoint the President,” he said.

Mr Kamba urged all those who had recently been appointed by the Head of State to work hard, focus on productivity and refrain from engaging in vices which had the potential to ruin their future.

“The President has demonstrated that he wants to put the leadership in the hands of the youths. It is up to us, the youths, to make sure that we do not disappoint the appointing authority so that others could be appointed and perform according to the expectations by delivering service and development to the Zambian people,” Mr Kamba said.
