PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has shown that he is an advocate of peace and should continue on that path as he turns around the economy, says Democratic Assembly Maxwell Mwamba.

Mr Mwamba said President Lungu should continue on the same path of unifying the country as it was a recipe for continued socio-economic development.

In an interview with the Sunday Nation yesterday, the opposition leader implored President Lungu to remain steadfast and continue driving the development agenda.

Mr Mwamba said that he was one of the political leaders who had willingly signed the peace accord and commitment to cooperate with Government to maintain the nation’s peace.

And party national coordinator Felix Mwango commended President Lungu for his policies and developmental agenda as well as the country’s enjoyment of peace.

Mr Mwango a senior citizen said he was happy with how the Head of State was carrying out his duties and implored citizens to guard peace jealously.

And Mr Mwamba said his party was yesterday scheduled to hold a public  rally in Ndola after it was approved by the police to show appreciation to its  members and Government for upholding the tenets of peace during the last general elections.
