St Ignatius Parish cooks for UTH patients

Congregants from St. Ignatius Catholic Church yesterday spent time at the University Teaching Hosiptal kitchen preparing meals and serving them to the 1800 patients.

Leading the parishoners, Fr. Charles Chilinda said Christmas was a time of giving and the effort by the parish was aimed at sharing.

“As Christians we are the eyes, the hands, feet and heart of Jesus Christ.  We must be Christ to the world and at this time of Christmas our actions bring Christ closer to the world.”

Among those participating in the preparation and serving of the meals was Tasila Lungu who is a st Ignatius parishioner and also Lusaka’s Nkoloma Ward 1 Councillor.Meanwhile members of Lions Club in Lusaka and Kawambwa in Luapula province visited a number of hospitals to give Christmas cheer to patients.  Among the wards visited where hampers of fruit were distributed included the malnutrition ward.
