I wish to advise the Daily Nation Newspapers to buy many fire extinguishers and train all its non-professionally certified employees especially these in night shifts how to operate them . Fire fighters must not be relied on. Too bad indeed.

We are Africans when we went to Gabon in 2012, we first paid homage to fallen heroes who died there. But after winning, we never took the cup to the Ocean. I think what we did can have an effect on the current performance of the senior Chipolopolo team.

GBM and Larry’s statements are one and same that the acts of terror being expressed through arsons are in honour of the incarcerated of HH and others like Mwaliteta. Is GBM suggesting that one arm of our government must stop to function or all prisoners should be released from prisons? This is criminality if not abandoning the rule of law. Our question now is who is a dictator between the executor of the law “constitution’ and the disregarder of the constitution. GBM let the law take its course. If you were in power which laws would you have used to stop arsons? Releasing all prisoners?

Brother Josiah Soko your article on the rantings of Elias Munshya (Daily Nation of July 11) should not surprise you. This is typical of some Zambians nga bakwatako utundalama, they tend to try to associate themselves with pompous rich people. They could not mingle with when they were at the end of the tail financially. They completely forget about the plight of the poor. The President is trying to protect the poor but see what came out of this man.

Allowances for what?

Committee members for re-construction of Lusaka City Council should not be paid allowances if there are employees of government. They are already on a salary. Meaning whatever engagement they will be involved in regarding the re-building of the market will be at the expense of their substantive government job for which they will get a full salary the end of each month. So why should they get allowances on top of their salaries. It is tantamount to getting double salaries. In any case, the number of committee members is too much. Only a few people are required to coordinate and supervise the works. Bamukolwe ngabafula tabucha bwangu.

GBM should respect North chiefs

GBM should learn to have total respect of our Northern Province chiefs who have respect for our laws, constitution and total confidence in our judiciary. If only we had people like GBM in power, who have no regards to the law (constitution) Zambia would have been in total chaos or even sold to the highest bidder in the world for its minerals. Bravo Northern chiefs for not condemning the Rule of Law. Other Chiefs should emulate them. Zambia is bigger than any individual so our traditions and cultures must be preserved and practiced at all times. Chiefs should be above partisan politics and work with government of the day.
