“It’s sad that even in this time and age, some people still continue to discriminate against people born different from them. We need to learn to accept, respect and love those born different from us,” says talented newly-signed rapper and songwriter at Kalandanya Music Promotions, Jay Kelly in his new single “Hiden Treasures”

The song which is both in audio and video format features the talented singer and songstress Lanji.

Featuring on Q-TV Zambia’s Wednesday edition of IN TOUCH program, hosted by Nelson Zulu, Jay Kelly said people born with albinism and those born with different physical disabilities also need care, love and support.

He said its high time people stood together to bring change to the many beliefs against albinism and disability.

“Hidden Treasure is a song I did that points out the many challenges faced by either people born with albinism or those born with physical disabilities. Just on albinism, the last census conducted showed that Zambia had about 25, 324 people with albinism who sadly continue to live in fear despite the efforts by the government to promote their welfare including prohibiting racial discrimination and brutal attacks. It’s sad that even in this day and age, some people still continue to have disclimentaly thoughts on people born different from them. We need to learn to accept , respect and love those born different from us”

“There is also the stigma that is thrown at a woman or a couple that has been married for sometime without bearing a child. Families and the community also tend to throw dirt (stigma). Its really sad and such needs to end. Basically, the song ‘Hidden Treasure’ has a message to point out that what if it was you or what if it was your brother, sister or child born that way or in that situation. How would you feel seeing them being mistreated,” he added

Hidden Treasure is already receiving massive support and airplay rotations. This is the artist’s second release for 2023.
