DETAINESS SAVED ME – NAKACINDA
… they thwarted police attempts to fuse in UPND cadres

By ADRIAN MWANZA
DETAINEES defended me and stood up to those who wanted to impose UPND cadres in the police cell I was in, PF chairperson for Information and Publicity Raphael Nakacinda has revealed.
Mr Nakacinda said no amount of intimidation would shake him.
He said that he was shocked that State House Deputy Inspector General of Police for Special Duties Fanwell Siandenge was present at Chelstone Police together with Munali MP Mike Mposha who wanted to infiltrate cadres in his cell to harass him.
“If Mr Hakainde thinks he is going to intimidate us by putting us in cells, then we are prepared to sleep in every cell in the country and PF members don’t be intimidated, get a tooth brush, soap and a towel,” he said.
Mr Nakacinda said there was a new phenomenon by the new dawn government of wanting to force him to get finger prints which were only collected from people that were guilty.
He urged members to be ready to sacrifice their liberties for the sake of democracy which was fought for since independence.
He feels greatly honoured to sleep in the cells because he was defending democracy and that they (PF) were ready to sleep in the cells countrywide.
Mr Nakacinda said that Mr Hichilema has everything in his script to silence individuals with opposing views.
He said PF would continue to fight for a just society without being swayed by setbacks like these.
Meanwhile, Police have officially charged and arrested Mr Nakacinda with defamation of the President.
He has been released on police bond and would appear in court on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.
