Don’t sell all your maize, FRA advises farmers

By VITA BANDA
FOOD Reserve Agency (FRA) Executive Director Mwansa Chamatete has assured the minister of Agriculture Mr Reuben Mtolo Phiri that the agency will see to it that they buy quality maize from farmers.
Speaking during a tour of depots in Katete, Mr Chamatete said the agency will buy maize at the right moisture for prolonged keeping.
Mr Shamatete said the grain would be of quality so as not to endanger the lives of Zambians who were the end users.
Mr Chamatete explained that so far the agency had already bought grain in some parts of the country and was being kept safely FRA sheds.
He has however appealed to farmers not to sell all the yield but to keep some for home consumption.
