THE Chipolopolo arrived in South Africa yesterday ahead of their COSAFA Castle Cup quarter-final match against Botswana tomorrow.

Coach Wedson Nyirenda, who declared the team ready for the task before departure, is confident Zambia will go further than the quarter-final stage.

“I think the team is ready for the match on Saturday. We will achieve our target of reaching the semi-finals,” Nyirenda said.

He called on the players to have the right attitude into the game and play with passion and responsibility.

“Botswana is not an easy team, they have improved; so we should expect a tough game,” he said.

Chipolopolo Soccer Fans Association patron Yotam Mwanza said the team needs to redeem itself at the tournament.

“The senior team has not been performing well, so the boys have to put in the best to win the title. I don’t believe the fans will accept another loss following the Mozambique disappointment,” Mwanza said.

He urged the fans to rally behind the team as they needed full support to perform well.

The squad has:

Goalkeepers: Kelvin Malunga (Nkana), Allan Chibwe (Power Dynamos)

Defenders:  Donashano Malama (Nkana), Moses Nyondo (Nkana), Adrian Chama (Green Buffaloes), Solomon Sakala (Napsa Stars), Lawrence Chungu (Power Dynamos), Isaac Samujomba (Nchanga Rangers), Webster Mulenga (Red Arrows).
