PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Copperbelt Province secretary Christopher Kalengo has been suspended for dragging the name of the party into disrepute.

Confirming the development to the Daily Nation, PF media director Sunday Chanda said Mr Kalengo has since been given seven days to exculpate himself.

Mr Chanda has since warned that the party would not tolerate indiscipline among leaders.

He indicated that PF was guided by rules and regulations which ought to be followed by all leaders.

“In terms of enforcing discipline in the party there will be no sacred cows, because the PF is not just about the present generation but it is also about the future generation which must come and inherit the party that is healthy.

“We know that indiscipline becomes a major threat to the life of the party, so people will be given an opportunity to exculpate themselves and if they are found wanting then the desired charges are going to follow,” Mr Chanda said.

Meanwhile, Kitwe district vice information and publicity secretary Gift Kalumba has resigned.

Mr Kalumba was before his resignation, charged for misconduct and was appearing before the district disciplinary committee.

“I want to thank everyone that I have worked within this journey, all my comrades at all structures of the party, especially the President of the party and the nation Edgar Chagwa Lungu. I wish them all the best in their service to this country and the party,” Mr Kalumba said.
