The Rock FM Radio annual music and entertainment festival Rocktober Fest takes place tomorrow at Municipal Sports Complex in Lusaka.

The show which enters its fifth year is this time set to be presented by Robertsons in association with Mosi Lager and Airtel. It will be mainly anchored on celebrating Zambian music and culture.

“The main focus of this year’s event is to celebrate Zambian talent. Whilst we may be seen as a station that does not play much of Zambian music, we would like to use this platform to promote our local acts and in the same vein, give our local artistes a platform to promote their talent,” said Mbachi Nkata, Rock FM GM/Director and one of the key organisers to the event.

“ In the past we have had international acts headlining the show but now we feel our very own artistes and local talents have worked hard to prove their worth hence focusing the spotlight on them,” adds Mbachi who is known in entertainment circles as DJ 3rill.

The Rocktober Fest has two main categories of entertainers this year picked from DJs and musicians. Amongst the DJs lined up for the gig tomorrow include, legendary Gesh Groove, Bizzy Wizzy, Links in the Mix, Creejay, Luv Bird and Kedo to mention only a few.

Musicians set for the event include J-Rox, Pompi, Izrael, SlapDee, Drimz, Jae Cash and Ozzy among others.
