THE distribution of bicycles for party mobilisation will help us go flat out and destroy opposition structures and bring more people to our party, Kasama district PF secretary Aaron Zimba has said.

Speaking to the Daily Nation after the district received 150 bicycles for party mobilisation from the secretariat, Mr. Zimba said for a long time now, party mobilisation had been a challenge especially in far-flung areas not accessible by road.

He said with the donation of the bicycles, the party expected no more excuses but to ensure that they combed the district for new members so that the party continued to grow as it prepared for the 2021 elections.

Mr. Zimba said the distribution of bicycles in the area had sent shivers among the opposition political parties as they had realised that as opposed to their fruitless tactics of concentrating on criticising Government for no reason, the ruling party meant business and was preoccupied with propagating issue-based politics devoid of malice.

He said the party leadership in the district will ensure that the recruitment drive hit top gear to make the party more attractive among its opponents by selling its ideals to would-be members based on developmental achievements it had scored since forming Government.

“It is like a dream come true for our members who are now more resolved than ever before to sell the party manifesto to members who are still in the valley of indecision. With this donation, we will go flat out to mobilise the party.

“This must be sending shivers on the opposition who have concentrated on propagating unfounded corruption allegations thinking that is the way to do politics,” Mr. Zimba said.

He thanked President Edgar Lungu and party secretary general Davies Mwila for initiating the bicycle donation programme across the country for party mobilisation and urged those who received the bicycles to put them to good use and for the intended purpose.

“When President Lungu says he walks the talk, this is what he means both for the party and the nation at large and my appeal to those who got these bicycles is to ensure that they are used for the intended purpose. For now, there is no one in Kasama who will complain that they are failing to mobilise the party due to transport challenges because that has been sorted out.

“We all need to go flat out and do what no other political party is doing in canvassing for new members. If we are to have it all easy-sailing in 2021, we need to bring as many people to the party as possible as that is the only surest way of guaranteeing us victory even before the first vote is cast,” he said.
