PARLIAMENTARIANS from both the governing UPND and the opposition Patriotic Front (PF) yesterday walked out of an orientation workshop on parliamentary Standing Orders after discovering that they had been ambushed by a final document which has vested all powers in the presiding officers.
The National Assembly has organised an orientation workshop for all legislators on the creation and implementation of the Standing Orders, which are the rules governing the proceedings in Parliament but the law makers were shocked that in fact, a complete document was presented to them whose effective date was April 1.
