VENDORS in Mkushi have vowed not to go back to the streets.

Vendors made the pledge during a meeting addressed by Mkushi District Commissioner (DC) Luka Mwamba accompanied by area Councillor Geshom Musonda held at Itala market.

The vendors said they will adhere to instructions and continue to conduct their businesses within the designated trading place and promote hygienic practices.

The vendors said they will cooperate with the authority for the betterment of their lives and health living for development.

Speaking during the meeting, Mkushi District Commissioner (DC) Luka Mwamba thanked the traders for complying with government stance regarding cleanliness and promotion of health living.

Mr. Mwamba further urged traders not to be incited to go back to the streets by disgruntled politicians with the view of destabilising government operations.

“I thank you so much for being cooperative and stick to government plan to operate from designated market places unlike on the streets. I also thank the local authority for allocating you the place of operation.” Mr. Mwamba said.
