CHIPOLOPOLO national trainer Wedson Nyirenda has dropped midfielder Rainford Kalaba as Zambia prepare to take on Algeria in a World Cup qualifier against Algeria to be played on September 2 in Lusaka.

Speaking when unveiled a 32-member squad led by Captain Kennedy Mweene, Nyirenda said Kalaba was still a member of the national team and would come back to playing for the national team at a later stage.

Nyirenda has also dropped striker Collins Mbesuma, the TP Mazembe trio of Given Singuluma, Nathan Sinkala and defender Kabaso Chongo.

“Kalaba is not just part of the team at the moment. I just also learnt that he has got some yellow card issues but like we have always said, he is still part of the team and will come in at a later stage,” Nyirenda said.

Meanwhile Nyirenda has included seven under-20 national team players in the 32-member squad for the Algeria encounter.

Nyirenda named strikers Fashion Sakala and Patson Daka, midfielders; Enock Mwepu, Emmanuel Banda, Edward Chilufya, Moses Nyondo and Boston Muchindu as the seven young stars summed for the world cup qualifier.

“This is a team and we are blending them together. They are one and will be working under the same conditions. Whoever impresses takes a position in the team,

“The local players have shown that they can do the job therefore we have include some of them so that they can be able to showcase their talent. We have a bigger pool to select our players from and we will be having other players coming in depending on the games,” Nyirenda said

Nyirenda has also called Lusaka Dynamos midfielders Fwayo Tembo and Cletus Chama Chota who were left out of the CHAN qualifiers due to alleged indiscipline. He said the two players were included in the squad as they had shown remorse.

“I have called Fwayo, Billy and Cletus and I think the boys have shown remorse. We need to understand that we are running an institution therefore it is our job to bring the boys in the right path and I believe the boys have learnt something,” he said

Meanwhile Nyirenda has summoned Ajax Cape town striker Rodrick Kabwe, Platinum Stars striker Brian Mwila, 2012 AfCON winners Stopilla Sunzu and Turkish based midfielder Chisamba Lungu.
