Allegations of corruption against the Patriotic Front (PF) government by some disgruntled politicians are deliberate and malicious campaigns aimed at misleading Zambians with falsehoods, PF Deputy Director for Media Antonio Mwanza has said

Mr Mwanza said such malicious campaigns were aimed at diverting people’s attention from the good works of the government.

He said some disgruntled politicians had resorted to making wild and unsubstantiated allegations of corruption against the PF and President Edgar Lungu because they had nothing else better to tell Zambians.

The former opposition Forum for Democracy (FDD) Spokesperson was speaking on Saturday when he introduced himself to the PF constituency, district and provincial officials during the launch of the party mobilisation campaign at Lufwanyama Boarding School in Lufwanyama district of the Copperbelt.

“I have come to join the PF because I have realised that politics is not about insults, is not about hate speech or harbouring bitter feelings about somebody, but it is about serving the people.

“Some disgruntled opposition leaders have nothing to use against the PF and so they have resorted to making malicious allegations of corruptions against the PF government to mislead Zambians and divert their attention from the good works of the government

“They cannot talk about schools, roads and the health sector because government is doing projects aimed at improving people’s lives in various sectors of the economy. With these developments taking place, the only story they can tell to Zambians is corruption,” Mr Mwanza said.

And speaking at the same meeting, PF Member of Central Committee and Chief Government Spokesperson Kampamba Mulenga  has advised those who were insulting President Lungu and accusing the PF government of corruption to provide evidence to law enforcement agencies or shut up. Ms Mulenga, who is Kalulushi Member of Parliament (MP), said former PF MPs who were attacking the ruling party after being expelled from the party were cowards who were still holding on to the party through a court injunction.

Ms Mulenga’s remarks were supported by PF Secretary General Davies Mwila who said real men are not scared of a fight, but always challenge others to a fight.

Meanwhile, PF Copperbelt Provincial Chairman Stephen Kainga has said it was sad that, instead of engaging in politics that would promote unite and peace in the country, some opposition politicians were busy promoting division through careless language.

Mr Kainga said those who were insulting President Lungu should be ashamed that he was not responding to their useless tantrums, but was instead busy trying to address the challenges facing the country.

He advised Zambians not to listen to the useless tantrums of some disgruntled politicians who wanted to be republican Presidents at any cost, saying such kind of people were dangerous because they can do anything to get what they want.

“Politicians who want to be republican Presidents at any cost are dangerous people because they can even set the country ablaze because of their untamed ambitions and desire for power.

“ It the desire for power and untamed ambitions for power which is making some opposition politicians to come up with all sorts of lies and malicious falsehoods against President Lungu so that people think he does not care about them,” He said.
