Mkushi gets new health post

Mboboli health post has been completed, Mkushi north Member of Parliament (MP) Doreen Mwape has said.

Ms. Mwape confirmed this to the Daily Nation in an interview after conducting an on the spot check of projects during her tour of the constituency.

Ms. Mwape said she was happy with the construction of the heath post which would go a long way in promoting health in Matuku ward.

“I am happy that the health facility has been completed finally. Now, people of Mboboli will access health services within the vicinity unlike walking long distances as it was in the past,” Ms. Mwape said.

Ms. Mwape said, all the necessary facilities had been put in place and will soon be open to the public.

The area MP said anytime soon human resource would be deployed to the area so that residents could start receiving treatment from the health facility which had been long over due.

Ms. Mwape has since appealed to Mboboli residents to look after the health facility with the sense of responsibility and ownership.

And Ms Mwape has taken a lead in cholera prevention outbreak in her constituency by  sensitising Masansa residents about the danger of the disease and its effects on development.

Ms. Mwape further took part in removing street vendors along Masansa road at the trading centre to get back to the market structure.

The law maker  said the cholera outbreak has become a national disaster hence the need for concerted efforts by all stakeholders and community members to maintain high levels of cleanliness.

She said there was need by community members to observe hygienic practices so as to prevent the disease to extend to Mkushi and other parts of the country.

Ms. Mwape further urged Mkushi residents to remain alert and prevent the outbreak of the disease in the area.
