THE people of Dundumwezi Constituency in Kalomo district have put behind their political “hard line stance” against President Edgar Lungu and are now eager to work with the government of the day, Chamuka ward councillor Patricia Simbeleko in Dundumwezi Constituency has said.

President Lungu is this week expected in Southern Province where he will commission the Dundumwezi – Kalomo Road.

President Lungu received the least number of votes in Dundumwezi at 252 while UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema had 30,810 votes. This was President Lungu’s lowest figure in all the 156 constituencies in the country.

And Ms Simbeleko said the people in the area were excited over President Lungu’s intentions to visit the area.

She said the President’s visit, would create an opportunity for the people of Dundumwezi to present the challenges they had been facing.

She cited the poor road network, lack of sufficient health and education facilities, among others, as some of the challenges that the area had continued to face.

“The people are looking forward to meeting the President and they can’t wait. As you are aware Dundumwezi is facing a lot of challenges and the President’s visit will create an opportunity for the residents to present their challenges directly to the Head of State,” Ms Simbeleko said.

She also said the head of State was free to visit the area, as he was the President for all Zambians.

Ms Simbeleko said the people of Dundumwezi were ready and looking forward to his visit.

She charged that elections were over and that the people in the area had moved on and now recognised President Lungu as the head of State.

“President Lungu is a President of all Zambians and if he wants to visit Dundumwezi, he’s most welcome, nobody can stop him.
