CONTRARY to reports that Kabwe’s Paglory University is closed, we are fully operational and registered with the Higher Education Authority (HEA), registrar, Trasizio Banda has clarified.
Mr. Banda said the government through HEA only withdrew about six students who were pursuing Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) after discovering that the programme was not well conducted by the department responsible.
He said in an interview that the affected students have not been left out and the university has engaged other higher learning institutions on the matter.
Mr, Banda said the university is working with other universities to ensure all the students who were withdrawn complete their PhD programme and graduate.
“We want to make clarity over speculations going on in the community that Paglory University is closed, we want to assure the community that we are not closed, accredited programmes are running and we are registered with the Higher Education Authority,” he said.
Mr. Banda assured that the hiccup that led to the withdrawal of students has been resolved following the visit of a team from the HEA which included the director-general.
