Lungu cautions Mufulira miners

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has cautioned miners in Mufulira not to be misled by disgruntled politicians promising them that they will help them resolve the various problems they are facing with mining companies.

President Lungu said opposition politicians had no platform which they could use to speak to mining companies and so miners should not fall prey to the blatant lies of the opposition leaders that they have the ability to help them resolve their problems.

He was speaking yesterday when he addressed a mini-rally at Mufulira Professional College grounds after touring markets, roads, police and immigration houses at Mokambo border Post.

“I know the problems and challenges miners are facing, and as government, we will be talking to mining companies on how best we can resolve those problems.

So, to the miners, let no one tell you lies that they will help you to resolve your problems,

“Only, the government can talk to mining companies to resolve your issues.

Not those opposition politicians. What platform can they use to talk to mining companies to resolve your issues.  Those are lies,” President Lungu said.
