SOLWEZI Member of Parliament says the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects proposed for implementation by the Constituency Development Fund Committee are not ones which were initially agreed upon.

As per guidelines, the Solwezi Municipal Council had requested for authority to use the 2017 CDF allocation to fund some projects.

But the Minister of Local Government has not approved the request because the Member of Parliament has disputed the projects insisting they are not the ones proposed for implementation by the CDF committee.

This is according to a letter from the ministry addressed to Solwezi Municipal Council and obtained by the daily Nation.

‘’The Hon minister has not approved your request to use the earmarked allocation of the 2017 CDF to Solwezi Central Constituency on projects identified for funding,’’ the letter read in part.

The local authority has since been advised to liaise with the MP and make new submissions after resolving their dispute.

But contrary to the claims by the Member of Parliament, all the projects that were submitted for approval were according to what was submitted by the CDF to the council.

During the CDF committee meeting which sat on November 13 last year of the Member of Parliament was part of the meeting where the committee proposed 21 projects.

And out of the 21 projects, the council recommended 11 projects for funding according to minutes of both meetings obtained by the daily Nation.
