I will strive to support various developmental projects in various constituencies, Copperbelt Minister Bowman Lusambo has said.

Speaking at the weekend when he officiated at the handover of the Lulamba maternity annex which was constructed at a cost of K450, 000, Mr Lusambo said as Copperbelt provincial Minister, he would strive to support various developmental projects in various constituencies.

He said construction of the maternity annex would bring health service delivery for expecting mothers to their doorsteps unlike previously when they walked long distances to Chawama clinic to access health services.

He said he was aware that the maternity annex was one of the many projects which the Chingola Member of Parliament (MP) Mathew Nkhuwa had embarked on after being elected adding that he would support his colleague by donating 600 bags of cement towards the developmental projects in the area.

“When a person is working hard, he or she deserves to be supported. So Mr Nkhuwa has proved that he is trying his best to fulfill his campaign promises. This is why, as Copperbelt Minister, I would like to pledge to contribute 600 bags of cement towards various developmental projects which were under construction in Chingola constituency.

“I would like to urge you, the residents to support Mr Nkhuwa in his efforts to deliver his campaign promises. I must commend Antheneon Engineering, the Chingola Community Development Trust, led by Mr John Zyambo and other stakeholders who were involved in ensuring the success of this project,” Mr Lusambo said.

And Chingola Mayor Titus Tembo commended Mr Nkhuwa for constructing a maternity annex in Lulamba so that expecting mothers could have maternity services closer to their homes.

“It is government’s desire to bring health service delivery closer to the people and so, the construction of this maternity annex shows that the MP is working. Let us support him and his good works,” Mr Tembo said.

And the Chingola lawmaker expressed happiness that he was on course fulfilling campaign promises he made ahead of the 2016 elections.

He said that during the 2016 election campaigns the residents of Lulamba appealed for construction of the maternity annex in the area because expecting mothers were traveling long distances to seek maternity services at Chawama clinic.

“I am happy to stand before you because the maternity annex is one of the campaign promises I made. And handing over this annex shows that am on course towards fulfilling campaign promises,” Mr Nkhuwa said.
