THE Zambia Body Building Federation (ZBBF) is in need of K50, 000 to host the 2017 Mr Independence Championship slated for Kitwe’s Greek Olive on October 28.

ZBBF vice-president Brown Ngámbi in an interview from Kitwe yesterday said the organising committee was yet to raise the targeted budget.

“Preparations for this year’s Mr Independence have started off and we have written to a number of corporate companies for sponsorship. We need K50, 000 to successfully host the event billed for Kitwe,” Ngámbi said.

He was however confident they will raise the amount before the date of the event.

He said the event was expected to draw over 30 body builders from around Zambia.

“We have so far almost 30 bodybuilders who have shown interest in vying for the title. Honest Muyupi will not defend the title following his break from body building,

“But among the notables are William Sinyangwe, Justin Chipulu and Emmanuel Nkonde,” he said.

Ngámbi encouraged bodybuilders from different provinces to enter the competition.
