UPND urges youths to seize gov’t opportunities

By NAMO PHIRI

TREVOR Mwiinde, the deputy national youth chairperson of the United Party for National Development (UPND), has urged young people to capitalise on the diverse opportunities provided by the government and improve their welfare.

In an interview with Millennium TV, Mr. Mwiinde said the UPND government was dedicated to empowering the youth through various economic programs such as the introduction of empowerment initiatives, which were showcasing the government’s commitment to nurturing and enriching the younger people.

Mr Mwiinde expressed concern that despite the government’s evident commitment, some youths had continued to voice grievances about feeling left out and urged them to recognise government’s efforts and capitalise on the opportunities presented.

He cited the increased constituency development funds, specifically designed to benefit the youth, as well as the establishment of skills training centres in different districts.

Mr Mwiinde highlighted the multifaceted schemes available, urging young people to actively engage with them.

He called on the youth to seize the chance to benefit from the national initiatives, emphasizing that the government is not only providing employment opportunities but also fostering business opportunities.

Mr. Mwiinde advised the youth to refrain from outdated complaints about unemployment, citing the government’s efforts in creating both employment and business prospects.
