I will not be intimidated by such allegations but will still go ahead and campaign in Kabushi Constituency ahead of the by election, Bowman Lusambo, vowed after a warn and caution at the Anti – Corruption Commission (ACC) offices.
The former Kabushi Member of Parliament said the allegations proffered by the ACC were politically motivated to bar him from contesting.
The ACC recorded a warn and caution statement from the former Lusaka Province Minister on allegations of bribery during the 2021 August election in Kabushi Constituency.
ACC Public Relations Manager Timothy Moono says these allegations were raised by the Ndola High Court and the Constitutional court which was part of the reason why Kabushi was nullified.
Mr Moono says this is in line with section 81 of the Electoral Process Act No 35 of 2016.
It is alleged that during the said period Mr Lusambo bribed church choirs with K20,000 each and also bribed the UPND members that defected to the PF.
It is alleged that Mr Lusambo is said to have given each K4000 to 13 youths in Kabushi ward and further gave K1400 to youths in Lubuto ward to share .
Mr Moono said the ACC would institute further investigations in the matter.
Those that accompanied Mr Lusambo include former PF secretary general, Mr Davies Mwila, Raphael Nakacinda, Richard Musukwa among others
