By NOEL IYOMBWA

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema should also delegate Vice-President WK Mutale Nalumango to travel in order to expose her in the international arena, former minister of Defence George Mpombo has said.

In an interview, Dr Mpombo stated that Mr Hichilema should be delegating others to represent him on international assignments.

Dr Mpombo said the Vice-President also needed exposure on the international scene. He also said it is the height of hypocrisy for President Hakainde Hichilema to continue making foreign trips when he vehemently condemned the previous regime over the same,

He recalled that the United Party for National Development (UPND) in opposition used to describe foreign trips as wasteful and reckless.

He noted that running a country requires team work, which entailed delegating responsibilities to others.

“The UPND while in opposition used to describe the foreign trips as wasteful and reckless, running a country let alone a company is team work therefore it’s important for the president to delegate functions.

Dr Mpombo said there was nothing new and extra ordinary about the Angola trip because it had already been reported on.
