FISHERS OF MEN  TURN TO REGGAE

Born twins from the family of 7, the dual stated recording music 11 years ago under the inspiration of their elder brother Ras Early Bird.

” We have one album recorded at SSV Studios 3 years ago. On this album which is mainly gospel, we worked with many artists like Regina Mwanza, Ruth Ndlovu, Deborah C and Nelly Zulu,” says Lawrence.

The title of their first album was called ‘Jesus is my Super Hero’ and was responsible for their presence on the music scene.

However, as part of rebranding and growth, the twins have now turned to reggae.

“We have now decided to go reggae conscious because for us, reggae music is the heart beat of the music and it’s that propaganda machinery that we can use to help push the message forward in informing and educating the people,” adds Evans.

“We are now basically dealing with social issues.”

In 2015, the dual released a single ‘Nifuna kupenya’ to demonstrate their found love for reggae. The song received massive airplay on local radio stations and gave them enough confidence to record more.

They now have a total of seven reggae songs with lots more to come in readiness for the new album this year.

” We are dropping some promos this week. In this new album all tracks featured Ivy Sheleni. We have also done a peace song featuring 16 artists.

We are currently working with two producers Mr. C from Watiyankha Studios a Malawian producer and also Lusaka based producer Trixstar.

The planned album will be titled “SEEK A FRIEND”.
