The boxing kit donated by Cambridge Shire Police Boxing Club to Exodus Boxing Academy will help improve the safety of boxers, says proprietor Antony Mwamba.

Mwamba said the boxing kit worth K8000 will help increase the performance levels of boxers at his academy.

He said that it was challenging for upcoming boxers at his academy to train without boxing kit such as gloves which were crucial to boxing requirements.

“We are delighted to have received boxing training kit from our associates in the United Kingdom. It was challenging for us to train without gloves but now we have been empowered with boxing kit which will help improve the safety of our boxers and increase their performance levels,” Mwamba said.

Mwamba commended Cambridge Shire Police Boxing Club for the gesture noting that the donation would go a long way in helping develop upcoming boxers in Zambia.

He emphasized the need for local corporate partners to emulate the UK club in supporting the growth of boxing in Zambia.

Mwamba reaffirmed his stable’s commitment to contributing to the development of the sport in Zambia.

“I would like to thank the club from UK for their generous donations. This is a very encouraging gesture which should be emulated by our local corporate partners. We need their help for the sport to continue to grow in Zambia,

“Very soon we will be hosting an international competition which requires support from corporate partners. We have raised some moneys for the tournament but we are very far from achieving our set budget therefore we appeal to corporate partners to come on board and help us host this crucial tournament,” Mwamba said.
