Makhosini to host the ‘Awesome Praise Concert’

Gospel musician and founder of the gospel singing group ‘Awesome Praise’, Emmanuel Makhosini will next month on the 3rd host an interdenominational praise and worship concert dubbed the ‘Makhosini-Awesome Priaise Concert’.
The singer who is gifted with a wide range of skills in music instruments, production, music arrangement and composition says the aim of this big concert to be held in Lusaka at East Gate Revival Centre (Hope of Glory) in Bauleni is to cultivate a culture of worship and praise in Churches.

“Awesome Praise is an interdenominational praise and worship movement made up of musicians, singers, songwriters, producers and poets from various churches throughout Lusaka.

The aim of this movement is to cultivate a culture of praise and worship in our Churches while embracing unity, teaching professional music applications and fostering a stronger spiritual relationship with God,” Makhosini says.
“It also acts as a youth mentorship approach to get them off other vices that might detrimental to their well-being.”
Evidently so, the ‘Awesome Praise Concert’ will therefore bring all these youths under one roof and help them build continued unity, praise and worship.

Planned to be anchored by Thomas Sipalo aka Prof. Diffikoti as MC, the concert will feature several supporting artistes including Felix-Ndangeni Inshila, John Chiti and Chirwaz among many more.
“I encourage people and all Christians to mark their calendars and support this important gathering,” appeals Makhosini who has for many years saved as a great inspiration and music mentor to many local artistes.

CHIBWE KATEBE INTRODUCES ‘DIVAS OF COMEDY’

With the International Women’s Day commemoration set for next month, comedian and actor Chibwe Katebe is already gearing up to expose and appreciate women in comedy through the forthcoming show dubbed, ‘Divas of Comedy’.
  This event to take place on Thursday 7th March at the Lusaka Playhouse is an all-female comedy show that for the first time will expose women comics to some kind of stand-up performance that is usually dominated by men in Zambia.
“For a long time in Zambia, female actresses, comedians and artistes in general have been sidelined and shielded by men.

Women have always been used to play very insignificant roles in plays and performances but through this show, we want to empower our women and introduce female comics,” says Katebe in explaining the purpose of the show.
This show also comes with the hope that Zambia could also produce some inspirational in women comedy like Uganda’s Annie Kansime.
“The whole purpose of the show according is to give women a chance and celebrate them in a unique style,” said Katebe.
Amongst the female comedians lined up for this seemingly must-see event include Nelly Namweemba, Teresah Shindende, Anita Munamoonga, Annabel and Mutale.

The show will be supported by Sekanayo plus music performances from Lady Rozay.
