The Rainbow Party on the Copperbelt has advised the Patriotic Front and the opposition UPND political cadres to stop bickering in order  for democracy to prevail in the country.

Rainbow Kitwe district chairperson Jonathan Banda said it was embarrassing for the PF and the UPND cadres to always differ on anything.

Mr Banda said the PF and UPND should work in harmony  in order for the  democratic dispensation of the country to be respected by the outside world.

He said the duties of the opposition political parties in the country was to provide checks and balances in order for the ruling party to work accordingly.

Mr Banda stated that politics of insults and violence are long gone and that it was therefore wrong for the PF and UPND cadres to involve themselves in acts of violence whenever they meet.

The Rainbow Party district chairperson said both the PF and UPND cadres should be tamed because they think they are above the law especially the ones from the ruling party.

Mr Banda said that the opposition political parties are not the enemies of the ruling party hence they are partners in development because the country does not only belong to the PF but  every Zambian.

He said the current differences between the ruling and the UPND should not be tolerated by Zambians because it  retards development.

Mr Banda added that the country will only develop if all Zambians work together regardless of one’s political affiliation.
